Boredom antidotes from Beyond the Hood

From nature to story telling

Unless you’ve been self isolating under a rock you’ve heard about Joe Wicks who has become the nation, if not the world’s PE teacher, with his free 30 minute morning workouts. These are running daily during coronavirus isolation despite him recently fracturing his hand. These fitness sessions have proved so popular that over 15 million people have tuned in to workout with Joe at 9am Monday - Friday. Fantastic to hear that Joe has recently announced he will donate his profits to the NHS.

The UK’s geography teacher role seems to have been taken up by Chris Packham the naturalist broadcaster; remember the Really Wild Show back in the 80s or perhaps you’ve seen him more recently on Spring Watch. Chris has a live daily stream and a “Self Isolating Bird Club” from the New Forest where he lives. Features have included a piece on Badger’s poo, guaranteed to fascinate mini Fulhamites, and “Skull of the Day”.

Follow Chris on Facebook here https://bit.ly/2UoRpdM and sign up to get notifications when he’s live every morning at 9am or follow on Twitter and find his videos on You Tube.
